The wind blows.

Spring on Bully Hill

Oils on gessoed 140lb watercolour paper.  7 x 11 inches

A field study in green.  Gentle colours and a simple composition.

Studio Musings...

The rolling fields of Lincolnshire come alive in late spring when the growing barley blows in the wind.  The tips of the grasses shine in the watery sunlight like velvety silks and satins.

This gessoed paper is strong and accepts my sculpting with brush and knife.
The marks give some depth and a rough look to the foreground.
